The JCB Gallery consists of a 2,000-square-foot main exhibition space and smaller East and West galleries that measure 480 square feet. Exhibitions are scheduled for five- to eight-week periods and include an artist reception and artist talk. Exhibiting artists will also have the opportunity to offer a gallery demonstration or workshop. Applications from individual artists or groups of up to 6 collaborating artists are welcome.

Exhibition proposals are reviewed by a panel of jurors and final gallery selections and programming decisions are approved by the Dougherty Arts Center Management. Jurors consider the following criteria: quality, content, and relevance to Austin audiences. While few restrictions are placed on exhibited work, graphic subject matter will not be selected for display during months with a high volume of activities for children.

The application deadline is Sunday, January 26, 2025, and applicants will be notified by February 28. Questions can be directed to JCBGallery@austintexas.gov. Read the full application guidelines and submit an exhibition proposal via the Dougherty Arts Center’s Submittable page.
