Frank Bowling: Map Paintings

An exhibition of select works from painter Frank Bowling’s “Map Paintings” series in which he used world maps as organizational tools to explore color. Including his painting Marcia H Travels (recently acquired by the DMA), this show is the first public exhibition of these works since their debut at the Whitney in 1971.
