"Spellerberg Projects (Lockhart, TX) presents New World, a solo exhibition by Houston-based artist Cristina Velásquez. In her photographs, Velásquez considers the construction and legacy of the "The New World," a term used to describe the Americas in the sixteenth century—its original hopes and its contemporary symptoms—from the perspective of her native Colombia."
