The Andy Moran Collection, John Biggers and Friends, an exhibition of significant secondary market African-American works of art from the private collection of Andy Moran. The exhibition opens Saturday, January 18, 2020, from 5 pm to 8 pm at the gallery, located at 3510 Lake Street at Colquitt in the Upper Kirby Galleries. It runs through February 15th, 2020. A collector talk will take place on Saturday, February 1, 2020, at 1 pm. Offered for sale will be original works by Dr. John Biggers, Kermit Oliver, Carroll Simms, Edsel Cramer, Joe Moran, Jade Cooper, Julian Joseph Kyle, and Earlie Hudnall. Houston collector Andy Moran, a bohemian retired investment banker and real estate investor, has deep ties with Texas Southern University, and a history of befriending talented artists. Many of the works in his art collection were acquired directly from the artists and have never been seen publicly before. Also included will be a few authentic African sculptures. Andy’s collector talk will give unique insight into the colorful relationships he has enjoyed with his artist friends over many years.
