Free and Open to the Public in Brown Auditorium--Mari Carmen Ramírez, Wortham Curator of Latin American Art at MFAH, will examine the profound transformations in the fields of Latin American and Latinx art that have taken place over the last four decades in the United States. These include from the critique of “the fantastic,” to the legitimization of concrete and constructive art as a new canon, and the emergence of the Latinx factor as a powerful force with the potential to redefine the playing field for these complex artistic manifestations.
