Christian Eckart: FOREST

Christian Eckart has launched two virtual exhibitions on his website: POWER and FOREST.  Beyond the virtual presentation, many of these paintings only exist as a digital sketch and can be realized in sizes starting at 3 x 5 feet to the large scale featured in the exhibitions. This body of work is a continuation of a series shown at McClain Gallery and Wilding Cran, Los Angeles in 2019. Eckart considers these works to be paintings that represent a new way of picture making in a post-internet era and in the context of virtual reality and artificial intelligence. As Eckart puts it: “The works are meant to demonstrate concerns regarding how the natural, cultural, and digital realms impact and inform one another as a result of their interaction, juxtaposition, collision, and integration.”
