Sandy Skoglund: The Cocktail Party

For the fourteenth presentation in the ARTMATTERS series, the McNay presents Sandy Skoglund's surreal sculptural installation The Cocktail Party. Recently acquired for the McNay's collection, the installation re-creates a typical suburban American cocktail party using Cheez Doodles as surface material, the snack food that leaves its residue on everything that touches it. The photograph features human models while the installation presents only faceless mannequins dressed in cocktail attire and covered in fluorescent orange Cheez Doodles.
