The Visual Arts Center Grand Opening / Ry Rocklen: ZZZ's

The Visual Arts Center (VAC) opens its doors for its grand opening weekend from September 24 through September 26!!! This weekend of events marks the celebration of Austin’s newest contemporary art space. After the cocktail reception and dinner explore the galleries and exhibitions and party with an open bar and music by the DJ collective MenRG on the 24th. The gallery will be open all day on the 25th and a huge line-up of events including a collaborative drawing event, a musical performance by The Lucky Dragons, a video screening, gallery tours, and lectures on the 26th. Los Angeles-based artist Ry Rocklen, a resident at the VAC since, August 23 exhibits his site-specific installation ZZZ's in the Vaulted Gallery through December 18. Don't miss Rocklen's artist talk at the Blanton Museum of Art on Thursday, September 16, 6-7 pm.
