"The Compound, The Halles, and The Farm at Wellville in collaboration with Piper Faust Public Art are pleased to present a site-specific, multi-part installation during this month’s Round Top Spring Antiques Show — March 18 through April 3, 2021 — by internationally exhibited artist Rachel Hayes titled Slant of Light. Hayes has created a grouping of works that will be installed both indoors and outdoors at these three Antiques Show venues. The artworks utilize Hayes’ signature vibrant palette of colors executed in various fabrics including organza, polyester, and cotton, while exploring textiles inspired by the location such as heirloom lace-encrusted handkerchiefs and vintage table linens.
Slant of Light marks Hayes’ first project for Texas, as well as the debut of Round Top’s public art program, curated by Piper Faust Public Art.
