"Partnership between ICOSA Collective and Spellerberg Projects debuts in Lockhart, Texas September 2021
LOCKHART, Texas — ICOSA Collective and Spellerberg Projects are pleased to announce a collaborative partnership linking the art communities of Austin and Lockart, Texas. Throughout the fall 2021 season, ICOSA presents a program at the Spellerberg Projects exhibition spaces in Lockhart’s historic district. This program kicks off with opening festivities on September 3, 2021, part of the city’s First Friday events.
This collaboration features a group exhibition involving ICOSA Collective members, which will be on display from September through December 2021. In addition, the program involves four exhibitions of invited artists who work regionally and nationally. These exhibitions include San Antonio artist, curator, and zinester Suzy González in September; photographers Rana Young and Zora J Murff in October; and painter Loc Huynh in November. "We are delighted to partner with Spellerberg Projects. In 2021 we sponsored the Bartlett Project in Bartlett’s historic downtown and participated in a curatorial exchange partnership with San Antonio’s Clamp Light Studios," says ICOSA. "This season of exhibitions in downtown Lockhart is another opportunity to create camaraderie with nearby communities by collaborating with fellow artists and organizations.” "ICOSA produces rigorous, dynamic programs, which we are proud to host in our exhibition spaces," says Marty Spellerberg, Director of Spellerberg Projects. "We wanted to do something special this fall and are excited about this partnership that provides an additional lift to the vibrant arts and culture scene we have here in Lockhart." The ICOSA Collective group exhibition opens Friday, September 3 at the Spellerberg Projects Masur Gallery, located at 119 W San Antonio Street. The invited artist exhibitions debut monthly at the Spellerberg Projects Main Street Gallery, located at 103 S Main Street. The program runs through December 27, 2021.
