Pawel Dutkiewicz: Reflections Revealed

Anya Tish Gallery presents the second Houston solo exhibition with Polish abstract painter, Pawel Dutkiewicz. In his paintings and spatial installations, Dutkiewicz seeks to establish a meditative purity by eliminating all obstacles that could hinder the observer’s experience, working in the vein of Mark Rothko and Barnett Newman. Using classic geometric compositions, the muted squares and rectangles in his paintings contain subtle variations of color from pink, lavender, to burgundy and bring to mind Japanese landscape painting.
