Layers of paint: scraped, spread, sanded, poured, and compressed, reveal and obscure the prior image, acting as a catalyst for his trust, faith, and determination in the creative process. The genesis of Clark’s work lies in how place and experience, both physically, psychologically, and spiritually inform us of ourselves and surroundings.”
