From Heidi Vaughan Fine Art: "HEIDI VAUGHAN FINE ART is proud to announce FABULOUS, a spring group show. The exhibition opens May 7 and runs through June 18, 2022, at the gallery, located at 3510 Lake Street at Colquitt in the Upper Kirby Galleries. For the opening on May 7, the gallery hours will be from 11 to 5 (a quieter time, good for people avoiding crowds), and from 5 to 8 for the reception. HVFA artists participating in the show are Emilie Duval, Susan Budge, Hillerbrand + Magsamen, Thedra Cullar-Ledford, Viveka Barnett, Roberta Harris, Linda Hofheinz, Patrick McGrath Muñiz, Janavi Mahimtura Folmsbee, Avisheh Mohsenin, and Mary Margaret Hansen. This is the first exhibition opening for Cat Yue in her new role as our Gallery Director. Come meet everyone! FABULOUS is a show intended to emphasize all that is positive, exciting, and wonderful about Houston art. While the severity of the pandemic is waning, there is significant strife all around the world. The focus of FABULOUS is to remind everyone that it is okay and healthy to feel good. The works chosen were selected for the positive energy they convey. Our gallery family is also collectively expressing how wonderful it is that we are all still here despite the challenging times, and for that, we feel pretty fabulous! We invite you to join us at the gallery to meet the HVFA artists, most of whom will be at the opening on Saturday. During the run of the show, many of the artists will regularly be at the gallery spreading the joy that viewing art with an artist or friend can bring. If you are fortunate to own the work of a living artist, it is a special pleasure to know them. In fact, that’s why we represent Houston-based artists! HEIDI VAUGHAN FINE ART represents Texas artists based in Houston. HVFA artists live in Houston but are from all over the globe. The gallery presents, embraces, and celebrates diversity with projects that support local creative communities and ideas. HVFA also represents important Houston collectors and sells secondary market art. A significant part of the gallery’s business is devoted to valuation and appraisal of works of fine art.
