From the organizers: "SWIM CLUB 수영 클럽, in collaboration with BORGEN WOLFE is pleased to present Summer E. Aquino’s FOLK PHYSICS, a project that moves from its beginnings as a collection of visual language on page into physical and virtual spaces as exhibition and artist’s edition. Making use of the solar house’s architecture, Aquino renders their poems into expanded sculptural forms that unfold, intersect and overlap physically and conceptually, encouraging a non-linear approach to entry and exit points in reading the space. The visual-spatial translation of language act to mirror the subject matter of their poem origins — a complex study of natural philosophy through decoherence, that is, our innate understanding of the world in relation to an entropic, non- rigorously defined reality. If each individual poems were an I, its linguistic components thought of as its particle composition, what new realities might we uncover as those particles cross and collide in a new experimental field? The artist’s edition is published and available for purchase at BORGEN WOLFE. Collectors of the edition are encouraged to experiment themselves with the application of its components. Summer E. Aquino (b. 1995) is an interdisciplinary artist from the Philippines, currently living and working in Dallas, TX. Their work has been published by The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, and exhibited at Kunsthaus Salzwedel in Germany, among others. Their recent projects include SOUP [ceramics], and a glaze development using the chemical composition of the lunar surface with sublunary compounds as simulant. Aquino’s work encircles the reconciliation between the infinite and the subtleties of personal sensation."
