Millennial Lotería: The LatinXperience

From Centro de Artes: "Millennial Loteria is an artistic parody of the Hispanic tradition of Lotería, which replaces outdated stereotypes with modern counterparts that reflect the evolving identity and reality of Latinx Millennials. La Dama is now La Feminist, El Mundo is now La Student Debt, El Sol is now El Global Warming, and La Escalera is now La Border Wall. By showcasing the reimagined cards, this show aims to provide a snapshot of modern Latinx life, while also exploring and breaking stereotypes from Hispanic-American history, like colorism, classism, and homophobia.     Permanencia Voluntaria by Guest Artist: Froy “Efedefroy” Padilla An exhibition featuring the work of Oaxacan artist, Froy Padilla Aragón, who expresses himself through urban art pieces he conceives in his imagination about how his cultural identity was formed. His work combines pop culture icons of the eighties with figures from the Golden Age of Mexican Cinema, creating postmodernist pop art in urban spaces. This exhibition will be the artist’s first show outside of Mexico."
