Studio Show 2024, Part 2

August 10 - September 07,2024

From Spellerberg Projects: "The Spellerberg Projects Studio Show is a yearly exhibition of all the artists who practice and work at Spellerberg Projects. This year with the opening of ten new artist studios, their numbers have grown and the show has grown into a two part exhibition. The second half of the gallery's yearly round up feature fiber art by Brandy Schuenemann, sculpture by Jennifer Moore, and paintings by Maya Endsley and Marie Tobola. Gathered into something between a class photo and an orgy set against pink candy-stripe, Tobola's lolling nudes beg the question, "What if Albrecht Dürer had a sense of humor?" Endsley's paintings are piped in thick, blushed frosting, framing surrealist treasure and a woman guarded by the phrase, "You don't deserve what you don't respect."  A wall-mounted device whose ambiguous function makes you miss Sky Mall magazine is the handiwork of Jennifer Moore. Curve stitching is a type of string art developed in the 1860s by self-taught mathematician Mary Everest Boole for teaching children mathematics. Brandy  Scheunenemann elevates this 160 year old artform to monumental status with her piece, Copper Sunburst. The exhibition runs through 9/7, Saturdays, 11am-3pm or by appointment."
