73 newly-acquired works from the collection of the late native Houstonian and energy entrepreneur, John R. Eckel, Jr., founder of Copano Energy. After Eckel's death in 2009, MFAH curators were the pick of the litter, including Ralston Crawford's 1942 painting Red Barge #1 and  a comprehensive selection of sculpture, monotypes, and recordings by Harry Bertoia.
