July 13 - October 19,2008
A hotbed of activity for many artists of the 1800s, Fontainebleau was the place to be for plein-air painters and photographers. Featuring work by the likes of Corot to Monet, this show comes straight from the National Gallery in DC, and emphasizes the importance of the 'quiet revolution' of the Fontainebleau artist, which predated Impressionism.
