Coastlines: Images of Land and Sea

Coastlines: Images of Land and Sea is curated by Heather MacDonald, The Lillian and James H. Clark Associate Curator of European Art, and showcases over 50 paintings, photographs, and works on paper. The works in the exhibition are from the DMA's collection and local collections and explore how visual artists from 1850 to the present have represented coastal landscapes. Highlights include Yasuio Kuniyoshi’s Bather with Cigarette and Edward Hopper’s Lighthouse Hill. A multilayered sound installation heard throughout the show, created by faculty and graduate students in the Arts and Technology program at UT Dallas, relates and responds directly to the works on display.
