New Works: 10.3 includes artists Henning Bohl, Roy McMakin, Adam Schreiberis, and is curated by Michael Darling, the James W. Alsdorf Chief Curator at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago. Bohl attempts to reinvigorate contemporary painting through a reexamination of past styles, recalling the compositional strategies of Toulouse-Lautrec and Matisse while McMakin's tables, chairs, and sofas created from wood defy categorization- check out his Duchampian-inspired Untitled (Wooden Toilet), 2005. Schreiber, an Austin photographer, is "more interested in how the medium of photography invents something than how it records something."
