UH's Visiting Artist and Scholar Lecture Series: Materiality presents Kathleen Stewart, Professor and Chair of Anthropology at UT, Austin. Her first book, A Space on the Side of the Road: Cultural Poetics in an `Other' America (Princeton University Press, 1996) was based on two years of ethnographic fieldwork in the fragments of coal-mining camps in southern West Virginia.
