Bill Arning most often prefers music that was notoriously referred to in the film High Fidelity as "sad bastard music." Making connections with audio and video clips from Bowie, Lou Reed, Patti Smith, The Buzzcocks, Pulp, Belle and Sebastian, Xiu Xiu, and Perfume Genius, Arning will look at how that outside position becomes, over time, one of great strength and the only club to which he ever really wants to belong.
