January 11 - February 09,2019
A show of recent works by Houston-based artist Adela Andea. "In search of remote landscapes, Andea invites us to share her experience while visiting the alluring, rugged Icelandic terra: from the land’s moss-covered lava fields, powerful glaciers, and monochromatic beaches to the sky’s enchanting Aurora Borealis. She fuses together semi translucent plastics then illuminates the structures with soft moving light projectors, LED’s and ultrasonic foggers. Using colors that resemble the Aurora Borealis, Andea turns mass - produced plastic into organic forms."
Opening: January 11, 2019 | 6-8 pm
Conversation: February 02, 2019 | 3-4 pm
Join artist Adela Andea and writer Brandon Zech from Glasstire for a conversation about the challenges and rewards of installation art, why bigger is sometimes better, and how light counts as New Media.
