December 30 - December 30,2018
"The New York-based artist Rochelle Goldberg creates sculptural installations using diverse materials—ceramic busts and animal figures, sprouting chia seeds, crude oil, LED lights, steel frames, and much else—that evoke fragmentary scenarios in which boundaries between the animate and inanimate are confused and the processes of decay and renewal are difficult to distinguish. The artist’s term for these unstable relations is “intraction,” a state of flux in which the border between one entity and another is continually undermined. Goldberg’s exhibition at the Arena on December 30 will feature work that she has made during her time in Marfa."
