Open Read/Collective Listen

"ICOSA Collective in conjunction with Black Mountain Project invites you to a special event, Open Read/Collective Listen, an evening comprised of an open read event in which attendants can take the platform for five minutes and share selections of their favorite poems, short stories, or storybooks. Part open mic, part reading, part story-time for adults this is an event of collective listening and engagement of the written word. Bring work by your preferred author, your work, or peruse the communal books in the gallery to select a work you would like to read or hear read. This event is happening during Open Canopy so wandering is encouraged. The space opens at 7pm, readings begin at 7:30pm.

ICOSA is an artist-run non-profit cooperative gallery that showcases a diverse range of contemporary art and programming.

As with all Black Mountain Project programming, Open Read/Collective Listen aims to activate unexpected points of encounter through a communal experience in the hope of catalyzing conversations that will expand our perceptions of identity, community, and arts practice."
