Adaptation: A Virtual Exhibition to Raise Funds for Local Artists in Need in Wake of Show Cancellations

Houston non-profit, Artists for Artists, will open its first ever virtual exhibition to support local artists in need. Adaptation: A Virtual Exhibition is a curated virtual art show featuring artwork from emerging to highly collected international artists featuring a vast array of mediums. The opening night exhibition will take place Friday, March 27 at 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. and runs through the month of April with a virtual closing exhibition taking place on April 26 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. This month long, state-of-the-art and hyperlocal experience will allow patrons to submerge themselves in a 3D reality taking a virtual stroll, room to room from the comfort of your own home. Each piece showcased will be available for purchase online. Visitors can explore the exhibition, visit artist bio pages, and watch streaming artist interviews. Example : https://www.artists4artists.org/artist-bio-slaughter This alternative exhibition is a collaborative effort to abide by the City of Houston’s Emergency Health Declaration, while supporting local artists that have been catastrophically impacted by the COVID-19 health crisis. With all public gatherings temporarily halted, the goal of the event is to assist artists in generating missed income and recoup financial investments from show cancellations. Ultimately, the event will bring the community together for inspiring and exciting entertainment. Artists for Artists is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that provides emergency recovery grants and free medical programming to Houston based artists. Emergency recovery grants are designed to assist artists experiencing a catastrophic career-threatening medical procedures. Artists for Artists works in partnership with other nonprofit organizations, corporate sponsors, private donors and conducts fundraising activities such as art auctions, galas, pop up events and private art collection tours.
