Southern Methodist University B.F.A. and B.A. Qualifying exhibitions Spring 2020

The B.F.A. and B.A. Qualifying exhibitions are a survey of what undergraduates can accomplish at the SMU Meadows Division of Art. Our students work in the full range of traditional methods and materials as well as interdisciplinary and new media art. Themes range from social and cultural critique to investigations that are exquisite explorations in creative form and image. You can see their final portfolio work at www.pollockgallery.art

B.F.A. in Art

The B.F.A. degree prepares students to become professional artists, engage in professions in the arts, or continue studies at the graduate level. To earn a B.F.A., the student is required to take a minimum of 66 hours in the Division of Art and nine to 12 hours in the Division of Art History.

B.A. in Art

The B.A. in art is designed to offer students a degree in art that allows time for significant study in another discipline as well. This makes room for double majors and extensive study in the humanities, sciences or other degree programs. To earn a B.A., the student is required to take a minimum of 48 hours in the Division of Art and nine to 12 hours in the Division of Art History.
