Ex Libris International Exhibition

March 06 - March 30,2021

From the gallery:
"Redbud Gallery is pleased to present a selection of “Ex Libris”, an exhibition of bookplates from the Old and New Worlds. The custom of affixing bookplates to books began in Germany in the mid-15th century. It was made by an artist who was commissioned by the owner to create a small graphic that bears the owner's name and the word "Ex Libris". This exhibition will feature creations not made to show ownership of books, but rather the lost art of Ex Libris, designed to show the beauty of classical printmaking techniques. The exhibition is composed of selections from international artists juried by Dr. Irene Guenther (Professor of 20th Century Cultural History, University of Houston Honors College) and Gus Kopriva (Print Collector / Redbud Gallery Owner)."

Reception: March 06, 2021 | 12-9 pm
