From the organizers: "BLACK AND BROWN BIENNALE PRESENTS A VIRTUAL EXHIBITION, CURATED BY RYAN (RAVEN) CRANE AND SLANT RHYME WHICH URGES US TO DEEPEN AND WEAVE TOGETHER OUR ANALYSIS OF SOUTHERN ALTERITY: REFLECT UPON OUR WRITTEN AND ORAL HISTORIES, OUR BODIES, AND THEIR RELATIONSHIP TO THE LITTORAL THREADS BETWEEN SOUTHERN LAND (NATURE) AND THE STEWARDS THAT OCCUPY THEM. Their performance work consists of essays, conversations, and archival investigations that seek to explore the paradoxes, limitations, and social ramifications of black and trans representation within contemporary culture, and contradictions of capitalism and its deleterious effects on bodies, movement, time, and land.
