In conjunction with the exhibition Dream Monuments: Drawing in the 1960s and 1970s, Aurora Picture Show and The Menil Drawing Institute co-present this free outdoor screening of films exploring artists’ various interpretations of and interactions with land. Land Mark Land Scape features rarely seen films by Ana Mendieta and Nancy Holt and Robert Smithson and a range of contemporary ruminations by artists Sky Hopinka, Karimah Ashadu, Takeshi Murata, Lani Asuncion, Alisi Telengut, Sam Green, and Kevin Cooley. This screening will take place on the lawn of the Menil Drawing Institute. Note: In the case of inclement weather, this screening will be held on the following evening, Saturday Aug. 28, location TBA."
