From Gallery 440: "Gerald Bell’s first solo show was called “the outsider looking in” and was a reflection of how he as an outsider, felt looking into this world. This show is called the outsider(s) looking in because it is the other way around… you, as outsiders having a glimpse into his life (about 100 days worth) since his first solo show at Gallery 440. He expresses his pain, frustrations, a few quirks about himself. Obsessing about a lot of things, both big and small and, with that also comes some burden. The burden of obsessing. Bell’s goal since his last solo show was to become more familiar with himself. To learn more about him as a person and move more towards the path which God has chosen for him and to realize that such a path is not only a safe path, but the right path. To heal. The best and meaningful way Gerald knows how to heal is through art. He will be sharing 100 pages from his diary. Some days are good. Some bad. All learning experiences and opportunities to share with you. On view, 100 small works on paper and a couple of paintings on canvas to tie it all together. It's a compelling story to be seen at Gallery 440 in #nearsouthside #thirdthursdayftw"
