"Quantum forces have conspired to entangle Austin’s Goodluckhavefun Gallery with Motherling, a San Antonio based curatorial team. The resulting phenomenon will bring artists with a focus on geometric abstraction into spatial proximity, reflected up and down the I-35 corridor from their primary locale. Works from seven San Antonio artists will occupy the Austin gallery space for the run of the show, while works from artists from the Geometric Abstraction Group of Austin will reside in San Antonio. Join both galleries for two distant and distinct opening events with artistic correlation. It's not paradoxical, it's Superposition. The show will run for 2 months, closing during the last 2 weeks of October.
MOTHERLING BIO: Motherling is a women-run art collective dedicated to presenting the contemporary in a familiar format. Motherling was founded by best friend duo Sealia Montalvo and Crisa Valadez, two college students and young artists of color. Their goal as curators is to highlight underrepresented and up-and-coming artists, integrating their work alongside more established contemporary artists in a DIY format.
