From LHUCA: "Andrea Myers (OH) explores the space between two and three dimensionality, hybridizing painting, sculpture, and fiber arts. Color is a crucial component to her work as she looks at fabric as one might look to tubes of paint. Maija Miettinen (PA), is a painter and writer born in Finland , her colorful works are inspired by her Nordic visual heritage, especially the traditional folk patterns of the Finno-Ugric people of the northern Europe and Siberia mixed with the immigrant experience in the US. Andrew Ina (TX), works in painting and mixed media installation and is based in Lubbock. His most recent project uses the caution pattern in varying forms to respond to our current nonsensical social and political climate."
