From the Charles Adams Gallery: "The Charles Adams Gallery will present Voy a verte/I’m going to see you an exhibition of works by Cuban artist, Jorge Elías Gil, from July 5 to July 29th, 2024, with an opening reception on July 5th, 2024, from 6-9pm.Curated by Dr. Leslie C. Sotomayor II, Voy a verte/I’mgoing to see you centers Cuban artist Jorge Elías Gil’s interdisciplinary artworks as they encompass a father/son lineage of geographical and psychologicaldiaspora through lived experiences. Gil’s works include drawings, paintings, poetry, collage and a short film. He explores themes of identity, migration, and family diasporas through life experiences between himself in Cuba and his son in the United States. Voy a verte/I’m going to see you invite us to witness an intimate father/son relationship, their love notes, hopes and photos shared. All proceeds from all sales of Jorge Elías Gil’s artworks in this show will go directly to him in la Habana, Cuba."
