From Galleri Urbane: "Liss LaFleur’s upcoming show, FUTURE KIN, is the second exhibition of an ongoing series from the artists' multi-year pursuit, The Queer Birth Project. The inaugural exhibition for The Queer Birth Project opened in 2022 at the Nasher Sculpture Center.  LaFleur collaborated with sociologist Katherine Sobering to conduct original and archival research that documents the experiences of queer (LGBTQ+) childbirth and family formation in the United States. The Queer Birth Project re-envisions artist Judy Chicago’s Birth Project (1980–85) and promotes a radically inclusive view of childbirth, reproductive justice, and family in a post-Roe era."
