Julie Speed: Cain & Able

September 06 - October 26,2024

From LHUCA: "Looking back, the Artist Julie Speed saw that the Cain & Able series got started from ants. Speed lives in Far West Texas where the sky and the ants are both large. She walks the same path just about every day, pausing at a certain mound to see what the ants are up to. They work hard and so the artist has gotten to admire them, which started her thinking about the face that if ants where to vanish from the planet, then thousands of other species would go extinct along with them. Come explore Julie Speed’s exhibition of Cain & Able in the Helen DeVitt Jones Studio Gallery from September 6 through October 26, 2024."
