From LHUCA: "Melissa Dorn focuses on feminism and labor aspects in her artwork, focusing on the mop as an everyday objects, and how mops intertwine with feminism, craft, and labor. Focusing on the details of the different mop heads, Dorn associates painting self-portraits focusing on her hair and its relationship to moppiness. Melissa Dorn’s exhibition Fem-utility Closet will be in the John F. Lott Gallery from September 6 through October 26, 2024."
