From CO-OPt Research + Projects: "About the artist: Scotty Hensler is an Assistant Professor of Art in the Fine Arts Department at South Plains College. Previously, he served as the Assistant Director for Landmark Arts, Exhibition, and Speaker Programs at Texas Tech University School of Art, and was a committee member for the Texas Tech University System Public Art Program. He also completed an artist residency at Charles Adams Studio Project (CASP) and is currently a new board member at Louise Hopkins Underwood Center for the Arts (LHUCA). Scotty holds an MFA in painting, with a secondary focus in sculpture. His artwork has been exhibited throughout the Midwest and Southwest, and he has significantly contributed to organizing exhibitions for artists in West Texas and across the United States.   About CO-OPt Research + Projects: CO-OPt Research + Projects is an artist-run studio space and gallery located in Lubbock, Texas, founded in 2019. The gallery features curated exhibitions of contemporary art, a reading library of artist books and zines, and special programming of artist talks, performances, and experimental music shows. CO-OPt also functions as a working artist studio where the artists J. Eric Simpson, Cody Arnall, and Aaron Hegert center their research and practice. The CO-OPt gallery and library is intermittently open from Wednesday to Friday, 10am-2pm, and otherwise by appointment."
